• Roy Hibbert battled through the discomfort of a possible broken nose to finish with a team-high 18 points and eight rebounds as Indiana Pacers edged Los Angeles Lakers 98-96 on Sunday. The 25-year-old centre was bloodied in the first quarter during a foul on Lakers star Kobe Bryant but remained in the game. He shot nine-of-13 from the field and scored eight of his points in the final quarter as Indiana snapped the Lakers’ nine-game winning streak at home.

• American Mark Wilson is off to another fast start on the PGA Tour, holding off an abundance of challengers to capture the $5.6m Humana Challenge tournament. Wilson fired a three-under 69 in the fourth round for a two-stroke victory – his fifth USPGA Tour win and third in 13 months. Wilson had to complete his third round Sunday morning after strong winds disrupted the tournament the day before.
Cricket
• Australia will play spinner Nathan Lyon instead of paceman Mitchell Starc in this week’s fourth and final Adelaide Test against India, captain Michael Clarke said. Clarke said Lyon’s inclusion will give Australia an improved chance of sweeping the series 4-0 against India, who have suffered heavy losses in the opening three Tests. “We think that is the best XI to give us every chance to win this Test match,” Clarke told reporters ahead of today’s Test.
