Updated - Godwin Grima appointed chairman of MITA
Godwin Grima has been appointed chairman of the Malta Information Technology Agency taking over from Claudio Grech, the government said in a brief statement.
Dr Grima, the principal permanent secretary has been serving as deputy chairman of MITA.
A detailed take over is currently taking place.
Mr Grima is not paid extra for his new post.

As an additional comment, as seen in https://www.mita.gov.mt/page.aspx?pageid=66 - this guy is a Jack of all trades master of none.
No qualifications in IT ... this guy is just a wannabe ... how is he supposed to lead technicals when he has no understanding of how things work? Let alone the implications they will have.

Will he as someone asked stay on as Perm secretary as well and so get paid twice? Mela this guy is superman? Is he that good? Or maybe his loyalty to the party is beyond question? Or is it so that he has a cushion if he's out on his butt with a change of Govt?? So many johhnny come lately abound in Malta, all become overnight experts. If a new party is in Government it should take a close look at all appointments carried out since 1st of January 2012, rats always abandon a sinking ship!

The comedy is endless! What a pathetic country of amateurs!
What on earth does this guy know about IT and management? In Malta there is a mafia of lawyers and notaries who are appointed to high rank post simply because of their profession apart their political connections - a legal person is not a god!!
