William Chetcuti and Diane Borg sportsman and sportswoman of the year

William Chetcuti and Diane Borg were this evening named Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year during the SportMalta awards 2011.

Danica Bonello Spiteri was named SportMalta award winner and Nathan Lee Xuereb Young Athlete of the Year. The men's rugby team was named National Team of the Year.

The best athletes with special needs were Steve Fenech/Mandy Ghio (Wheelchair Dancing) and Mark Zammit Cutajar (Special Olympics).

Julian Pace Bonello is official of the year.

Special recognition was given to Nathan Farrugia, Keith Bartolo and Marcon Bezzina.

The event of the year award went to the European Judo Championships for Cadets. Special recognition was given to Lifecycle and the Special Olympics.

William is a World Class athlete. Its almost impossible to have someone like him. Wish to have more but we are a small country, we dont invest a lot in sports. William is capable to win a medal in Olympics but it depends on luck and mostly he need to control his nerves on his special day.
