MANGION. On December 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Marie-Louise née Callus and Joseph, God’s precious gift of a daughter – CAITLIN ROSE, a most welcome sister to James Andrew.

PUTZULU CARUANA. Gaia Giselle proudly announces the birth of her brother ENRICO EMANUELE and her sister MARTA MAY, on January 8. Proud parents Henriette née Debono and Marco thank the obstetrician, the midwives and staff at Mater Dei Hospital. Praise be to God and Mary.

Requiem Mass

Mass for the repose of NICK BORG CARDONA will be said on January 24 at 7 p.m. at the Crypt of the Divine Mercy Shrine in San Pawl tat-Tarġa.

On the seventh anniversary of the death of Fr CHARLES CARUANA, SJ, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated on January 28 at 6.15 p.m. at St Aloysius College, Birkirkara. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated.

Obituary

BARTOLO PARNIS. On January 20, at Villa Messina, Rabat, ANTHONY, aged 85, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Patricia née Bugeja, his daughter Joanna and her husband Paul Bonnici, his sons George and his wife Silvana, Anthony and his wife Greta, his precious grandchildren Paul Anthony and his wife Sarah, Andrew, Jack and his fiancée Veronica, Julian, Keith and Mark, his beloved great-granddaughter Jade, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for St Julian’s parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BLAKE. On January 21, ALBERT, of Gżira, aged 81, passed peacefully away at home. He leaves to mourn his loss, his beloved wife Ann née Keeler, his children Jennifer and her husband Mario Testa, Christopher and his wife Eugenia, his grandchildren Daniel, Louisa, Julia and Andrew, his brothers and sister, John, Mary Barthet, Cecil and his wife Lydia, Alfred and his wife Josette, Saviour Grech, husband of the late Bessie Grech, in-laws in Malta and England, nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass, praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30 p.m. Donations to The Malta Community Chest Fund will be appreciated. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Victor and his wife Stella, Joan and her husband Frankie Azzopardi, Andrew and his wife Rachel,her grandchildren Francis, Maria Jessica and her fiancé Clint, Adrian and Alexander, her sister Ġużeppa, widow of Ġużeppi Borg, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Żejtun Home tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Francis of Assisi church, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joseph, her children Saviour and his wife Mary, Paul and his wife Doreen, Josette and her husband Joseph Borg, Noel and Joanne, her grandchildren Peter and Juanita, John, Karen and Mark, Denise, Claire, Martina, Sarah, Sasha, her brother and his wife, the widow of her brother and their families, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m. for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

MUSCAT. On January 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, GEORGE (HNC Lond.), ACIS, CSA, CPAA, aged 67, of Rabat, residing in Lija, passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mariuccia, née Grech, his daughter Roberta, BA, MA, LL.D, residing in Strasbourg, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and numerous friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.15 p.m. for Mass at Lija parish church, followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

PISANI. On January 21, BEATRICE, née, Baldacchino, aged 82, of Balzan, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband George, her sons Marcel and his wife Adelina, George and his wife Anna, her daughters Denise and Pauline, her grandchildren Matthew John, Paul Nathaniel, Sharon and Steven, great-granddaughters Elena and Alexa, relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. at St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Foundation for Respite Care Services, Dar il-Kaptan, Mtarfa, will be appreciated. God grant her eternal peace.

VASSALLO. LAWRENCE, died peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital on January 21, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He was 88 years old. Born in Vittoriosa in 1923, he was a former Chief P.O. in the Royal Navy and served from 1945 to 1967. He then lectured at the Polytechnic, Msida, until his retirement. He was a dedicated family man, a skilled chef and avid cruciverbalist. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, devoted daughter Ruth and her husband Marco Farrugia, beloved grandsons Peter and Eliot and his girlfriend Amber, other friends and relatives. Funeral Mass will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Gżira. Services will conclude with burial at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual Light shine upon him.
