Meeting with Debono at Castille 'inconclusive'
A meeting held at Castille this afternoon between Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, Foreign Minister Tonio Borg and Nationalist MP Franco Debono was inconclusive.
The Office of the Prime Minister confirmed the meeting, which it said was 'inconclusive' but Dr Debono said 'no comment'.
Dr Debono wants Dr Gonzi to resign and has said he will be voting against the government in the no confidence motion moved by the Opposition and which is to start being debated tomorrow. The vote is on Thursday.
Earlier today the Prime Minister said he will do his utmost to find a solution to the situation but this solution would have to be one which would take the government to the end of the legislature, not just until Thursday.

Franco Debono may not be a traitor, but if he carries on with his threat, he would be betraying not only his colleagues the Ministers / back benchers or the PM Dr Gonzi but all those voters of the 5th District who elected him to Parliament. He contested the Elections as a Nominee by the PN and contested under the banner of the PN. For fairness sake Dr Debono should tow the line until the end of the present term in 2013 .If he is not willing to do so, then he should resign from being a member of Parliament and member of the PN. He may have the opportunity to contest the By-Election as an Independent Candidate. My advice to Dr Debono is to tow the line for which he was eelcted. He owes it to the voters of the 5 th District. If he carries on with his threat of No Confidence, his name will be written in history - all for the wrong reason

Some have worked to have their name down in history for doing something constructive, others have caused troubling events which also placed their name in history. For some as long as they have their name in print, (no matter what), they have made their mark. I wonder how Dr. Debono thinks he will be remembered.

We also wonder how the Governments who have promised a "platt shun," "money no problem" and a PM who was condemned by the court for lying and who later crowned himself as president, would be remembered!

It is very easy to see the negative rather the the positive ... just ask yourself where is Italy, Greece, Spain, Protugal and Irland, then ask yourself where we are!! This government has kept us safte by not listening to Joseph, by not listening to someone who wanted to reduce patrol, electricity and water tarrifs two years ago!! Kien ikun hellu il pajjiz li kiku Gonzi semma minnu!!

"We are not afraid of using the tools of democracy. A resolution taking the country to Thursday's vote will not solve anything. It is not a solution. A solution should be one with no conditions attached to it. I will accept no conditions." Gonzi at Zebbug yesterday.

What a shame, especially for DR Debono, after all that have been said. What about the cliques, heavy fuel oil power station, arrogance, Euro 500, ministers not reaching targets, insults from inside the party, Prime minister held hostage by a group of people, and so much more. Most of Maltese people thought , that at last there is a person we can count on and now it seems that all have been forgotten. Dr Debono it will be better if you hold to your guns , as your political days are to be counted just the same but at least you will be remembered as a gentle man.

You can read between the lines that Dr Debono wants a personal vendetta from both Dr Gonzi and the PN. He never criticised on one single instance the opposition but just the nationalist party with whom he got his parliamentary seat. Am sure he is sitting on the wrong side of the house but the PL now has matured considerably and will not even dare to welcome him aboard. He is a public menace by all means. Let the race begins and wins the best.

From my observations I can predict that Dr Gonzi will today go to the President and call a snap election to be held maybe on the 10th or 17th March 2012.
All this thanks to Franco Debono who wants anyone (that’s Joseph Muscat) but Gonzi to be Prime Minister of Malta.
I feel betrayed by the candidate I elected.

This afternoon's meeting at Castille could well be his very last time going up those steps. And that, not as a Prime Minister, not as a Minister and not even as a Parliamentary Secretary. But as a rebel who will soon be discarded, with history showing him as the MP who brought an elected government to an earlier, abrupt end to its 5-year programme just because PN and its leader would have nothing of his nonsense and pressure to be promoted to minister. In the meantime, the alternative PM had a whole hour to spell out his plans on Malta's immediate future and instead chose to tell us of his childhood and make his wife weep infront of the whole nation.

What is democracy?
U.S. president Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) defined democracy as:
«Government of the people, by the people, for the people»
Democracy in its purest or most ideal form would be a society in which all adult citizens have an equal say in the decisions that affect their lives. I’m definitely sure that democracy is a fundamental way to reassure some freedoms and never doubted its importance to the economic development of societies.
The purpose of democracy like that of human rights protection is to uphold the dignity of every individual and to ensure that the voices of the weakest are also heard. Its core values –freedom, equality, fraternity,
accommodation of diversity and the assurance of justice underpin the norms of human rights as well.
“My notion of democracy is that under it the weakest should have the same opportunity as the strongest.”
- Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948), leader of India’s non-violent struggle for freedom

We just need more of Debono's in Malta. Maybe we get on track. Wheter he did it beacuse of himself or not, I don't care. What I care about is, that he did the right think and everyone should do the same so things start getting better.

Ibelieve that Dr Franco Debono should listen to what the Prime Minister have to say because he experienced quite a lot of experience mainly in the last 7years as a Prime Minister and although Dr Fronco Debono is a Smart Politcian he is just starting in politics and he got more to learn and because he is so smart he could learn in a shorter time and by time because he is so smart he cuold be a BIG ASSET for Malta and the Nationalist Party where he belongs, but if things keeps on going like they are he could loose everything and it would be a waste mainly fror him by loosing his carier in polics and other things.Who is gaining from all this is just the PL and Malta is going to loose because they are the party without a VISION for the futre of the Maltese People and I am pretty sure you do not want this to happen. Please think about it very very carefuly what could happen to us all if this thing happen and I AM PRETTY SURE THAT YOU'RE SMART ENOUGH THAT YOU'RE NOT GOING TO LET THEM USE YOU. A CASTILLO.

Franco Debono does not understand that his tantrums have got to the point that the PM prefers to go to the elections and chuck all the blame if there is a defeat i\on Debono.
The PM is in a win / win situation he gets to kick Debono out of the PN and politics and in such way make a favour to all of us and at the same time have a scapegoat if the election goes wrong.
So Franco you will be the NET LOOSER

The importance of teamwork
Teamwork: A group of people, contributing their individual knowledge and skills but working together to achieve a common goal/task.
Whether in the workplace or on the football field, or even amongst members of a community, effective teamwork can produce incredible results. However, working successfully as a team is not as easy as it may seem. Effective teamwork certainly does not just happen automatically; it takes a great deal of hard work and compromise.
• Good leadership: Effective leadership is one of the most important components of good teamwork. The team's leader should possess the skills to create and maintain a positive working environment and motivate and inspire the team members to take a positive approach to work and be highly committed. An effective team leader will promote a high level of morale and make them feel supported and valued.
• Clear communication: Communication is a vital factor of all interpersonal interaction and especially that of a team. Team members must be able to articulate their feelings, express plans and goals, share ideas and see each other's viewpoints.
• Establishing roles: It is absolutely necessary for team members to understand what their role on the team is, what he/she is responsible for. The team leader can enable this by defining the purpose in a clear-cut manner in the beginning of the formation of the team.
• Conflict Resolution: Conflicts will arise no matter how well a team functions together. The best way to counter conflict is to have structured methods of conflict resolution. Team members should be able to voice their concerns without fear of offending others. Instead of avoiding conflict issues, a hands-on approach that resolves them quickly is much better. It is often advised that the team leader sit with the conflicting parties and help work out their differences without taking sides and trying to remain objective if possible.
• Set a good example: The team leader must set a good example for good teamwork to come about. In order to keep team members positive and committed and motivated, the team leader herself/himself needs to exhibit these qualities. The team looks to the leader for support and guidance so any negativity on the leader's part can be disastrous.
The concept of teamwork is extremely important to the success of any team. All coaches talk about working as one unit, as a unified team. Teamwork and unselfishness create the backbone of a great team, without them a team cannot realistically compete. You can have a group of superstars, but if they do not work well as one unit, chances are they are not going to be as successful as you would think. The team working as one cohesive unit is going to be the key in their success.

Parliamentary democracy is best served by the observance of rules of representation by those entrusted with political power, in full view of one and all.
If a member of parliament feels he should vote against his own Party in a Vote of Confidence , he or she should be free to cast his vote against his own Party, irrespective whether such an act will bring down the government . This is a political act for which the Member of Parliament is responsible to the electors and not to the political party on whose platform he contested the election Only such a prerogative will guarantee the freedom of one and all, since otherwise we would be living under a partitocracy - rule by political parties. After all the Member of Parliament is representing the electors in his or her constituency and not the Political Party. Likewise in a general election , the elector is free to cast his or her vote as he or she believes best serves the country , irrespective whether he or she voted for one or other political parties in past elections.
VINCENT WILLIAMS

The solution is easy. The PM will resign. Dr Lawrence Gonzi will not be the first PM to do so. A PN Prime Minister had to resign against his wish in the past after he came from a visit in Italy. After a very harsh criticsm and an uproar in the country for what he said during his visit in Italy. The PN had to choose another MP from his members to take the post of the resigning PM.
Then will resign those Ministers who failed to deliver and instead new Ministers will be sworn in. In this way, as everyone knows, Dr Franco Debono MP will be satisfied and confidence will be restored in the Government and Malta will gain its stability.
If on Thursday GonziPN will loose the 'no confidence vote' and the country will have to go to a General Election. Dr Franco Debono's latest motion about the parties' financing and other ideas can be adopted in the near future as they are suitable for the progress of the country. Many PN hard liners are seeing up to their nose because they are so politically blind!!

Even if he is bringing down a rusty ship before time, he must remember that the world does not revolve around him, and that if this ship is going to sink, he is going to be dragged down with it. He went into politics with too many aspirations and grudges very early on.
