Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, Archbishop of Genoa and president of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) last week was in Gozo where he visited various churches and called on Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at the Curia in Victoria.

The Cardinal, who was accompanied by 30 priests coming from his diocese, visited Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, where he led a concelebrated Mass, the Cathedral in Victoria and Xewkija parish church.

At the Curia, various priests shared their experiences about their pastoral roles in the diocese.

Mgr Grech thanked Cardinal Bagnasco, in his capacity as CEI president, for supporting Gozitan priests who chose Italiandioceses for their pastoralwork and who furthered their ecclesiastical studies.

At the end of the meeting, Mgr Grech presented a silver icon of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu to Cardinal Bagnasco.
