Chiara Ellul has been appointed director of sales at Le Méridien St Julian’s Hotel and Spa.

She joins Le Méridien from the Westin Dragonara Resort where she was corporate sales manager.

Ms Ellul graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Hospitality from Glion Hotel School in Switzerland in 2004 and joined Starwood Ho­­tels and Resorts Worldwide in May 2005, working in catering, events and sales departments.

She later travelled to Australia to complete her experience at the Westin in Sydney, gaining further knowledge in the groups and leisure segments of the hospitality industry.

Upon her return to Malta she joined the team at the Westin Dragonara Resort and continued on the path to personal and professional development by obtaining the Advanced Tourism Higher Di­ploma.

She was also selected to take part in a field visit in Scotland last November.

Le Méridien general manager Franco Vella described Ms Ellul as a “determining asset” to the executive team, particularly with her knowledge of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, and her capability to motivate the sales team.
