SCHEMBRI ADAMI – FRANZ. Today the 19th anniversary of his demise. Always in our thoughts and prayers. His four children Dr Sandro Schembri Adami, LL.D., Graziella, Aldo, Maria-Luisa, wife of Marco Astrologo, his four granddaughters Donà, Kyra, Giulia and Mia. Jesus, Mary, Joseph. Other prayers are solicited. The 6, 7, 9.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Masses at Balluta parish church will all be offered for the repose of his soul.

SHAW – MARIANNE. In ever loving memory of a very dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on the 18th anni­versary of her demise. Always in our hearts and prayers. Sadly missed by her son Victor and his wife Tessie, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Understanding the Arab world

AŻAD Foundation will be holding a course to help those interested in eventually interacting in some way or another with our southern neighbours. The course is devised to offer a combination of Arab language and also culture classes with sessions held bi-weekly conducted by Sanaa el Nahhal.

The course, which begins on February 21, costs €195 for 30 sessions.

Collective Clean-up

The Ramblers’ Association will be holding a clean-up event at the Majjistral national park tomorrow and has invited everyone to join.

It has urged all members and lovers of the countryside to meet at Golden Bay car park at 9 a.m. to give a helping hand to the park’s management in clearing up the rubbish accumulated over years of neglect.

Gloves and garbage bags will be provided but those who have heavy-duty gloves should take them along.
