Episcopal ordination on February 8

The motto chosen by Mgr Prospero Grech O.S.A. is In te Domine speravi In Thee, O Lord, I have hoped.

Mgr Grech, Malta's second cardinal in nearly 200 years, will be ordained bishop at St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta, on February 8.

Fr Prospero will be consecrated by Mgr Giuseppe Versaldi, Archbishop and president of the Holy See's Prefecture of Economic Affairs. Mgr Versaldi has also been appointed cardinal.

Mgr Cremona and Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will be concelebrating during the ceremony.

Mgr Grech's episcopal coat of arms is diagonally divided into two equal parts with the Maltese cross on a red background on one side and the coat of arms of the Order of St Augustine on a dark blue background on the other.
