The story behind the building of the fortifications in Gozo and Comino, dating from the time of the Order of St John, features in a DVD that will be launched today.

The 26-minute production, entitled A Tale Of Two Towers, features Albert Gauci as military engineer Giovanni Rinnaldini and Terry Shaw as Grandmaster Alof de Wignacourt who speak on the Santa Marija tower in Comino.

Paul Barnes as Grandmaster Juan de Lascaris-Casteller speaks on the Dwejra tower.

The film, which includes John Barnes as narrator, was shot on location in Gozo and Comino.

The heritage DVD will be launched this evening at the Ministry for Gozo, in Victoria. Copies will be on sale at €10 each from Din l-Art Ħelwa’s head office in Melita Street, Valletta and from its other sites.

Din l-Art Ħelwa said it would utilise the funds raised from the sales of the DVD for the maintenance of their heritage sites in Malta and Gozo.
