I have been following the Franco Debono saga closely. Unfortunately, it appears that Dr Debono’s view of government is diametrically opposed to that of his own party under the current leadership.

He is, of course, entitled to his opinion, but evidently, as in fact he asserts himself, this confrontation is affecting his health adversely. In the circumstances, Dr Debono has really two ways forward. He may decide to call a truce and make peace, and utilise the remainder of this legislature to continue pushing his views, which may in the long run be accepted by the party, if he goes about it patiently.

Alternatively, he may decide to forego his political career and concentrate on his professional career, in which he excels. One thing for sure is that he must calm down. We only live once!
