The European Integration Fund aims to support efforts by member states made in enabling third-country nationals of different economic, social, cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic backgrounds to fulfil the conditions of residence and to facilitate their integration into society.

Under the European Refugee Fund €716,188.74 have been allocated to finance actions related to reception conditions and integration. Another € 456,180 have been allocated under the European Integration Fund to finance actions related to putting into practice the

Common Basic Principles for immigrant integration policy established within the EU, building capacities within policy, coordination and building intercultural knowledge on various levels and the exchange of experience, verified procedures and information in the field of integration among member states.

How does the integration of migrants increase crime? Any scientific evidence from your side?

Integration will never happen as it never happened anywhere else with these people.

Even as refugees and legal immigrants in places like Toronto Canada for example, a good portion of these folks stick to their own neighbourhoods where taypayer paid public housing is available like in the Jane and Finch area or Regent Park or Dixon Road that are now rife with crime and property destruction from their very own actions. A lazy life of crime and drug gang violence to supplement their taxpayer funded welfare earnings is what they prefer.

Some Somalis do move to the province Alberta as drug dealers and are causing murderous violent mayhem there. Same deal in the USA in places like St. Paul Minnesota that is now full of so called Somali refugees.
When you added all up some cultures are a losing proposition when mixed in with civilized cultures that are footing the bill that they find ripe for the picking, facts are facts just open your eyes and see.

I was referring to Malta, a different scenario from that of Canada (if it is true) since here most migrants work.

Anyway, you dodged my question. Your allegation is that more integration of immigrants means more crime. How?

I did not dodge any question, I told you already and others have blogged the same sentiment down below on this blog.
Integration will not happen with these cultures here in Malta or anywhere else. We like to be with our own kind and most importantly, SO DO THEY, it is human nature. You cannot force social engineering down everyone's throat no matter what draconian laws are foisted on the population and no amount of the tax payer's money is spent on propaganda will do the trick here or anywhere else. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

This has been tried in larger and richer nations than Malta decades ago and failed miserably and that is why the social engineers have come up with the even more ridiculous polar opposite of integration, multiculturalism, which is also a big failure as stated recently by the PM of the UK and the leaders of Germany and France.

Finding simplistic answers that do not work by throwing taxpayer's money to created problems that should have never happened or should have been nipped in the bud is the epitome of stupidity and a waste of hard earned resources. Integration is a make work project for a lucky few at the expense of the majority with the full knowledge that it is a tried and true dismal failure.

Where did you read "illegal immigrants" and "illegal acts"? What has the economy got to do with the integration of refugees? You think we'll make more revenue out of them if they live in ghettos? Maybe build a wall around them surrounded with electrocuted barbed wire?

That is why the EU is prepared to pour money into Malta to force us to keep them here. They mean trouble.

Well, while Malta might have been treated like a prostitute in the past, that time is over. Now, one expects politicians to put our interest first.

"It has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt"

Who has proved this and with which method?

William Calleja, you have either been living under a stone for the past 10 years or else you are too lazy to look things up.

And those are hardly neo-Nazi sites. Only our dear leader, GonziPN thinks otherwise.

@Willian Calleja

It has been proven in France, the UK, Canada, Denmark and all other countries that you care to mention.

Why, in Canada, 18 persons from such immigrants, born in Canada, were arrested in a plot to kill the Prime Minister and place explosive bombs in major landmarks and business areas, in order to bring about the changes they deemed necessary, i.e. to bring their old country's culture and institutions and make it the law of the land.

Also, the venomous idea of 'multiculturalism' by definition excludes integration, it is either one or the other, and I do not see how our supposed leaders to do see the contradiction therein; people should point this hypocrisy out.

Mr Calleja
Suggest you pay a visit to the U.K
Take a stroll through one of the many no go areas that are part of every major city. You may notice signage informing you that you are entering a sharia only area.
When many leaders of Europe themselves state, integration of these illegals has failed, not because of the efforts used to help them integrate into society, but for reasons they refuse to,instead expect the host nation to integrate into their way of living
They arrive screaming persecution, once they receive free housing, car, benefits courtesy of the hard working European tax payer, then they start demanding the host country changes its way of life traditions adopts sharia law,
With over a hundred sharia law courts now in operation in the U.K. the writing is on the wall

Why is multiculturalism a failure? I think it's a wonderful thing.

Mr Alan Delia

Jan 17th, 12:50

This is positive news. This is the EU I voted YES for.

Charles W. Sammut

Jan 17th, 12:51

Mr Moser, some people think that paedophilia is a wonderful thing.

William Calleja

Jan 17th, 12:56

@Charles W. Sammut - Only that Paedophilia is legally and morally wrong (at least a lot of westerners agree on this) and Multiculturalism is a fairly recent phenomenon whose effects are still up in the air.

Please sir, refrain from using spooky words to describe something that has nothing to do with another.

Charles W. Sammut

Jan 17th, 13:06

Mr Alan Delia why don't you tell us the REAL reason why you endorse the EU so much? A quick Google search will expose it.

Emma Xerri

Jan 17th, 15:24

@Andreas Moser

Because people prefer to be with their own kind. And that is why in cities much touted for their multiculturalism, you will find people living in ghettos, the lines clearly delineating and dividing each ethnic group.

The only people who benefit multiculturalism, besides those immigrants who come in with the specific intentions of exploit welfare systems and using weakness in the multiculturalists’ credo to established a parallel cultural and legal system with the goal of ultimately challenging the host country for supremacy (this will be done through demographics over a period of time) are agencies, both governmental and NGO's and their heads and employees who are making a good living with these supposedly humanitarian projects, and of course rulers and politicians who like nothing better then to have a divided society (you know the old adage of divide and conquer) and to remove democracy and civil liberties - in fact the first thing governments do before embarking on a policy of multiculturalism is to gag freedom of speech and clamp down on any dissenters of this policy, by using new fangled hate speech laws and political correctness starts to be instilled in the psyche.

Finally, another group who definitely benefits from increase potential man-power that multiculturalism i.e. immigration brings, are the industrialists, who will now be able to find cheaper labour and undercut and circumvent the minimum wage laws.
