New season underway at the SuperBowl

Having been once again crowned MSV Life League champions at the end of 2011, okmalta.com have just launched their third title defence bid.

The new season sees a total of 28 four-strong teams participating in three separate divisions over 18 league weeks. MSV Life have once again confirmed their sponsorship of the 2012 championships, organised by the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association and played at the Eden SuperBowl, St Julian’s.

okmalta.com left it late to have their most recent championship success confirmed as it went right down to their final clash against Salitos in week 18. A 6-2 victory was enough to push okmalta.com clear of nearest rivals Fina who had to settle for second best.

Ramis claimed third place in Division One, just one point behind Fina.

While Salitos and Gladiators were both relegated to the second division at the end of last season, they have been replaced in the top flight by Supreme and J. Grima & Co, who clinched the top two spots in Division Two.

In the meantime, Atlas and One-4-All drop from the second to the third division, and their places have been taken by 4-Play and Kiwis, the Division Three winners and runners-up respectively.

Spectators are welcome at the SuperBowl during league fixtures and anyone interested in joining a league team or becoming involved in the sport should contact the MTBA on mtbamalta@gmail.com, or the Eden SuperBowl at superbowl@edenleisure.com.
