Obituary
BUHAGIAR. On January 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, PAWLU, ex-police constable 1022, from Rabat, aged 74, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria, his children Mario and his wife Doris, John and his wife Joanne, his grandchildren Dorian and his girlfriend Diana, Kimberly and Kyle, his brothers and sisters and their respective spouses, in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Ta’ Ġieżu church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Siġġiewi cemetery. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors at home. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
CASSAR. On January 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, JANE CASSAR, LRSM, of Sliema, aged 92, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Lina Micallef, her sister-in-law May, wife of Benny, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Gregory the Great parish church, Sliema where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Ursuline Creche, Sliema will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
CUTAJAR. On January 11, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, CARMELINA, aged 89, widow of John, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Carmen, Andrew and his wife Carmelin, Vivien and her husband Martin Debono, Alice widow of Joe Cardona, Nadia and her husband Ron Cordery, her grandchildren and their respective spouses, and her great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Nelly Borg, widow of John, her family and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Francis church, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank all the staff at RB1, St Vincent de Paule, for their dedication and care. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
GALEA. On January 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, BERNARDINA, known as Bennie, aged 87, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Marie wife of Victor Cuschieri and her nephews and nieces Tonio Cuschieri and his wife Priscilla, Margaret and her husband Alex Schembri, Francis Cuschieri and his wife Anne, Antoinette and her husband Stephen Muscat, Connie Attard, Josette and her husband Stephen Rausi, Pierre Attard and his wife Marisa, Stefan Attard and his wife Pia, their children and grandchildren and her friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital, today for Stella Maris Parish Church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolora Cemetery. VELLA. On 12th January, JOSEPHINE née Anastasi, aged 82, of Sliema, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss, her son Donald and his wife Joanne, Claire, wife of her late son Raymond, her grandchildren Owen, Amenia and Elena, her brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Żejtun Residential Home tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for the Divine Mercy Sanctuary, Naxxar, where Mass, præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Requiem Mass
Tomorrow being the 14th anniversary of the death of LILY PACE, Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated at 6.30 p.m. at Tal-Ibraġ parish church. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

AZZOPARDI – CARMELO. Today the 25th anniversary of his sad passing away to eternal life, meeting his Lord whom he had loved so much. Gone from us but always dearly in our daily thoughts and prayers. SULLIVAN – GODFREY. In loving memory of a beloved husband, father and grandfather today the ninth anniversary of his demise. Fondly remembered and missed by his wife Therese, his son Timmy and his wife Ariane, his daughters Benna and her husband George, Pippa and her husband Raphael, Paula and her husband Paul and all his grandchildren. Donation to Dar Merħba Bik
The President of the Ladies Running Club, Stephanie Demarco, recently presented a cheque to the Head of Home of Dar Merħba Bik, Pamela Cuschieri.
Dar Merhba Bik is a shelter for abused women.
The donation was in line with the club’s policy to distribute part of the proceeds from its annual race, to a charitable institution. It described as commendable the love and dedication shown to the women and their children throughout their stay at the home.
Asthma public meeting
