The primary principle of a democratic system is that the majority rules. When a government in power has a majority of one member over the opposition, that one member has the power to overrule the majority of the governing party by voting with the opposition and thus the minority of one member overrules the majority.

A need has arisen to introduce a change in the Constitution to prevent this situation by giving only one option to a dissenting member, to resign his seat in Parliament and not allow a change of horses during the race.
