Six wise kings arrived in Gozo today - three in Xaghra this morning and three at Bethlehem in Għajnsielem this afternoon.

On their arrival at Betlehem in Ghajnsielem, the kings were welcomed by hundreds of people, some of whom followed their two-day re-enactment of the biblical trip, which started in Valletta yesterday.

Today, they set off from Selmun to the centre of Mellieħa and then crossed over to Gozo, arriving at the Għajnsielem nativity village at about 4.15 p.m. There, they handed over their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

The arrival of the wise men in Xaghra, also followed by many people, was organised for the third consecutive year by Christmas in Xaghra.

First to enter Victory Square were 'Joseph and Mary' with baby 'Jesus'. They took their place in front of the basilica where three shepherds arrived shortly afterwards.

The wise men, riding on horseback, arrived with their gifts for Jesus following a star that moved from over the parish offices.

Archpriest Carmelo Refalo, the Xaghra Historical Reenactment Organisation, the Guiding Light Youth Group, Vascas Jewellers and Victor Muscat's Horse Riding helped in the organisation of the event.
