Sliema Wanderers foreigners Jorge Santos Silva and Jackson Lima Sequeira, both Brazilians, could part ways with the BOV Premier League club this month after a dispute over unpaid wages.

Sources told The Times yesterday that Jorge and Jackson Lima have written to the Malta FA requesting that they be released with im-mediate effect and compensated by Sliema Wanderers FC for the time they did not receive their dues.

Jorge joined the Wanderers from Vittoriosa Stars in summer. The striker scored three goals in the Premier League.

Playmaker Jackson Lima, whose contract runs out in 2013, helped himself to four goals this season as Sliema are currently fourth in the standings and facing a tough challenge to book a place in the Championship Pool.

Jorge and Jackson Lima are be-lieved to have met with club officials this week but no agreement was reached. The two players didn’t report for training yesterday.

Sliema play Birkirkara on Sunday.
