650 juniors in Floriana tournament

The eighth Christmas tournament, organised by the Floriana FC Nursery in conjunction with the Local Council, was held last week at the Verdala Secondary School, Cospicua.

The Greens were joined by 13 other club nurseries, namely Hibs, Ħamrun, San Ġwann, Melita, Pietà, St Patrick, Mosta, Tarxien, Qormi, Żejtun, Birkirkara, Vittoriosa and Żurrieq.

The tournament was open to teams in five age-groups, U-8 to U-12, and spanned over five days.

Around 650 juniors took part in this festival which was played in a friendly atmosphere.

In a short statement, the organisers thanked the Floriana Local Council, Malta FA Technical Centre, Youth FA, nurseries, coaches and parents for their contribution towards the success of the tournament.
