An 86-year-old man from Ta' Xbiex was grievously injured this evening when he was hit by a Toyota Funcargo driven by a 50-year-old man from Swieqi. He is not in a critical condition.

The police said the accident happened in Triq ix-Xatt, Gzira, at around 6 p.m.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
