Excelsior’s charity commitment

A ‘charity forest’ has flourished in the lobby of the Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana, throughout the festive season.

The forest is comprised of trees branded by various companies which gave a donation to a charity of their choice.

Grand Hotel Excelsior em-ployees, family and friends sponsored their own charity tree and decorated it with donators’ photos as a token of appreciation.

Grand Hotel Excelsior’s general manager Norbert Grixti said the initiative makes Christmas less materialistic. He encouraged more local organisations to take part next year.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s sports and social committee recently held afternoon tea at the YMCA with snacks and delicacies prepared by the hotel’s award-winning pastry team.

The following Sunday, a group of over 40 employees, family and friends participated in the President’s Charity Fun Run.

Mr Grixti said: “We aim to distinguish ourselves not only through quality of service and guest experience, but also through our active involvement in assisting people in need.”
