Chefs at the Radisson Blu Resort and Spa, Golden Sands have set up a chocolate house with a mechanical workshop, featuring intricate detail and workmanship, for the festive season.
To create the house, chef patissiere Jimmy Aquilina and his team used 60 kilos of dark chocolate, 25 kilos of milk chocolate, 10 kilos of white chocolate and 25 kilos of icing sugar .
At the Radisson Blu Resort, St Julian’s, chef patissiere Robert Spiteri and his team constructed a life-sized choco-late house and two nutcrackers. To build the five-foot squared chocolate house 120 kilos of chocolate and 20 kilos of chocolate spray were used. The two five-foot tall nutcrackers were made from sugar paste, using 50 kilos of sugar-based dough called pastillage.
