Forum left out of Industrial Relations Board
The government is persisting in its tactic to ignore the 11 unions in the Forum by leaving the organisation out of the Industrial Relations Board, Forum said in a statement.
It said this was apart from the fact that Forum had also not given a place on the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development.
Forum said that in spite of all this, it would be continuing with its work next year until common sense prevailed and such senseless discrimination came to an end.

Jien nahseb li jekk John Bencini ikollu il-kuragg jghid issa daqsekk, u jirrisenja minn president tal- forum, din l-ghaqda issib posta fil-MCESD. Din kwistjoni ta' sbalji li saru fil-passat, nahseb jien bejn il-gvern u s-sur John Bencini.

Is anybody aware that there are elements in the MCESD and IRB that seem not to have any intention of supporting the Forum's membership in the two bodies? Is it not possible that that's where the ultimate problem lies?

I think you have to ask that question to the other members of the MCESD. They're the ones to accept or deny other unions joining.
The GWU has two seats on the MCESD; come on, GWU, let's see you giving up one of them to the Forum!

@ Mr Richard Caruana..
Mr Caruana, why and on what grounds should the GWU give up one of her seats in the MCESD...!! All they have to do is ACCEPT the rappresentation of the FORUM and ADD another chair around the table.. That is all they have to do to be a truly CREDIBLE and DEMOCRATIC organization...!!!
But from the looks of it, `somebody` is acting by some hidden political agenda..!! THAT`S ALL.. As simple as that...!!

`@ Mr. Michael Magri
I think it is not as easy as you are saying, because if the Forum is given a Chair with the Workers Group then the Employers Group will insist to have an additional chair as well.
Cosidering that the Workers Group is made up of 1 Chair for the CMTU, 1 Chair for the UHM and 2 chairs for the GWU, and since the Employers group also has 4 Chairs, than the solution should be that the Forum is given the extra Chair of the GWU , and thiu to retain the Balance of four Chairs to the Employers Group and four to the Workers Group.
Finally one should be talking of representatives rather than Chairs since these do the talking and reach decisions and not the Chairs.

Mr. Seychell.. Do you mean to tell me that it is SO Hard and Difficult that the Powers that be, cannot find an acceptable way to change the formula of who sits on the MCESD table..!!?? Do not forget that the FORUM holds a force of more than 11,000 various employees of most important jobs in Malta.. My conclusion in this case is that if we are truly honest with ourselves, i always beleive that Where There Is A Will.. THERE IS A WAY....!!!
