HSBC Malta Foundation cheers children in foster care

The HSBC Malta Foundation recently sponsored the annual Christmas party for children in foster care organised by the National Foster Carers Association and Aġenzija Appoġġ’s Foster Care Unit at Pembroke parish hall.

The Foster Care Unit assigns children to families who can provide a safe and nurturing environment and help fulfil the children’s needs before they can be reunited with their relatives. Each foster family is supported a social worker.

HSBC Malta Foundation has been helping the Foster Care Unit since 2002 and also sponsors the books the children receive as Christmas presents.

The foundation is committed to investing in the local community by raising funds and supporting programmes to benefit disadvantaged children, the environment and heritage. The foundation works closely with several local businesses and non-profit organisations.

The foundation aims to make long-term social investments and form partnerships rather than only making donations. HSBC staff contributes to charities and causes that they feel passionate about, and the bank encourages them to take an active role in initiatives supported by the HSBC Malta Foundation.
