Air Malta will be adding more flights to Tripoli from January 3.

It will be operating to and from the Libyan capital every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Chief commercial officer Philip Saunders said the decision was taken following the increase in demand since the airline resumed scheduled air services to Libya on November 28.

The additional frequency means some 1,000 additional passengers will be travelling to and from Tripoli every month.
