Winter Moods to welcome 2012 in Gozo - December 27, 2011

Top local band Winter Moods will be back on stage to welcome the New Year in Gozo. The band will be performing live at the official end of year celebrations in Independence Square, Victoria.

The end of year celebrations in Victoria are free and open to everyone. Festivities kick off at 8:00pm and Winter Moods will go on stage at 10:00pm and will lead the countdown at midnight. A large tent will cover the stage and the square to cater for any kind of weather.

The celebrations are being organised by the Victoria Local Council and the event is supported by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Local Councils, Ministry for Gozo, Malta Tourism Authority, Coca Cola and Downtown.

"We are delighted to have Winter Moods with us on New Year’s Eve to end 2011 in style and welcome the New Year with a bang,” said Mayor Samuel Azzopardi. “The band’s mass appeal and remarkable melodies guarantee a memorable night. We are working will all the outlets in Victoria to ensure the public will have a night to remember."

"It has been over three years since we last performed in Gozo, so we are really looking forward to New Year’s Eve," said Ivan Grech, frontman of Winter Moods. "I am half-Gozitan, my father being from Ghajnsielem, so performing in Gozo is always a thrill. We will be playing our hits and we look forward to a memorable night with the Gozitans and all the Maltese who will be joining us."
