Man grievously injured in accident

A man was grievously injured in a traffic accident last night. He is not in a critical condition.

The police said the accident, at Triq il-Gudja, Kirkop, happened at around 10.45 p.m.

On arriving on site the police saw an overturned Toyota Blizzard which was extensively damaged. Two people, the 30-year-old driver from Qormi and his 40-year-old female passenger from Marsaxlokk, were in it. The passenger was slightly injured.

They were assisted out of the wreckage by members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team.

They were then taken to Mater Dei Hospital.
