I have been a customer of Go Mobile for the past few years, with contracts of two years each time. I have always been happy to be so, until recently.

When I signed my new contract in June they said the company wished its customers to start making their monthly payments through direct debit, to which I nicely said no.

I prefer to keep on making my monthly payment in cash or cheque for personal reasons. To my surprise, I started getting bills with an extra €5 tagged on to every bill.

When I asked customer care for an explanation, the reply was that this was company procedure for not being on direct debit.

Since when is one punished for paying? I know one gets a penalty for late payments but not for paying cash.
