Obituary
AAKEROY – REBECCA, most beloved daughter of Lars and Rachel, née Cassar, sister of Mathias and granddaughter of Mary Ann and Anthony Cassar and Randi and Ståle Aakeroy, passed away in Trondheim, Norway, at the tender age of two and a half years, on Friday, December 16. Fondly remem-bered by her aunts and uncles, Gabrielle and Mark, Ben, Martin and Christel and Ragnhild and Didrik. Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the chapel of the Resurrection (Tal-Erwieħ), Tarxien. Interment will take place privately. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated.
BARTOLO. On December 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, CATHERINE, widow of Joseph, of Żejtun, aged 71, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Miriam Hayman, Alexandra and her husband Dino and Kevin, her grandchildren Elizabeth and Nicholas, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, at 7.45 a.m for Żejtun parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Żejtun cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
CARUANA. On December 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN, of Senglea, aged 91, co-founder of Ambassador Shirts Co., passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his only son Tonio and his wife Desirée, his grandchildren Alessia and Mirco, his sisters-in-law Mary Caruana, Josephine Caruana and her sons George, Ivan and family, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Senglea basilica where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family regret they cannot receive any visitors at home. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
CASABENE. On December 21, SALVATORE, passed away peacefully at his residence in Valletta, comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his wife Violet, his daughters Josephine, wife of Jonathan de Maria, and Johane, wife of Brian Abela, his grandchildren Julia, Jack, Jerome, Jan and Adam as well as other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. at St Dominic parish church, Valletta, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
