As far as I know nowhere in Europe are transport services suspended at any time so that the employees can spend time with 'their loved ones'. A reduced service should always be available. I am sure that if the employees who want to work on such days, were to be paid extra for operating the services they would not think twice about not spending time with 'their loved ones'. Try this out and see if I am right. Whilst on the subject, the police, army, doctors, nurses and people working in catering are required to work on such days irrespective of whether they want to spend time 'with their loved ones'.

So how far in Europe have you travelled? Many parts of Europe have NO SERVICE on Christmas day or New Years Day.
Some people are just to selfish to expect EVERYTHING to run as normal - -others are selfless enough to work.
As for expecting public transport to run? Its just wrong - - so wrong.
