I feel it is high time that G. Borg Olivier and Amery streets in Sliema are turned into one-way roads.

With cars being allowed to park on both sides it is very difficult for another two vehicles to pass each other. Furthermore, when there is a heavy vehicle, or even a mid-sized van, then one of these vehicles has to stop to let the other go through.

In G. Borg Olivier Street, one often encounters traffic jams. This street is very busy with people visiting Capua Hospital and the Victoria Hotel. Besides, many drivers use this road as a shortcut to the Fond Għadir area.

In Amery Street, there is a supermarket and, again, with vans and other heavy vehicles delivering goods it is not easy to get through.

In my opinion, G. Borg Olivier Street should be made a one-way street going down from High Street and this simply because most of the traffic is coming from Rudolph Street.

Amery Street should then be declared a one-way street going up from Tower Road.

I sincerely hope that Transport Malta or whoever is in charge will give it a serious thought.
