FTIAS Ltd, the Qormi-based multi-lingual accounting services organisation, won the Castille Resources Excellence Award 2011 at the 10th Malta People Awards organised by the Foundation for Human Resources Development.
The company, which is fully owned by the FTI Touristik Group, was competing for the award against 19 companies nominated in seven categories.
FTIAS managing director Kevin-Jude Paris expressed the company’s delight at achieving recognition for its efforts and achievements. He said this was only possible through its focus on the value of the people and the strong sense of team work at all levels.
FHRD chief executive officer Joe Gerada said that most ntrants had taken up the challenge and produced very good submissions for assessment for this year’s awards, despite the bar having been raised even higher. Assessors had returned a favourable report this time round as well.
Meanwhile, Actavis Ltd, Computime Ltd, the Medicines Authority and the Pharmacy of Your Choice project were presented with the Go plc People Management Impact on Business Success Award.
Alf Mizzi and Sons (Marketing) Group, Grand Hotel Excelsior, Gozo General Hospital, Medicines Authority and Pharmacy of Your Choice won the Malta International Airport Employee Engagement Award.
Nector Group won the Malta Information Technology Agency Excellence Through Technology Award.
The Actavis Learning and Development Award went to CHI Hotels and Resorts, Corinthia Hotel St George’s, FTIAS Ltd, Gozo General Hospital, Melita, Nectar Group, and the Westin Dragonara Resort.
The Simonds Farsons Cisk plc Performance and Reward Award was presented to Actavis Ltd, Nectar Group, and the Westin Dragonara Resort.
Alf. Mizzi and Sons (Marketing) Group, Chetcuti Cauchi, Deloitte, and FTIAS Ltd were presented with the Ministry of Education, Employment and the Family Equal Opportunities Award.
The APS Bank plc Corporate Social Responsibility Award was presented to Corinthia Palace Hotel and Spa, the Malta Police Force and the Transplant Support Group.
