The Christmas season has been inaugurated in lavish style at Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay, St Julians and Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa in San Anton, with an official tree-lighting ceremony taking place at both venues.
The event at the Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay enrolled the assistance of two cute ‘little angels’, who opened the proceedings by officially throwing the switch to light up the massive Christmas tree set up in the hotel lobby. A choir entertained the guests with their repertoire of Christmas carols, while a selection of tasty refreshments were served to all present. Mr Stuart Chappell, General Manager of the Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay took the opportunity to wish all the guests the very best for the festive season.
Meanwhile, the lighting ceremony held at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa started off in the hotel’s front gardens, where mulled wine, sparkling wine and roasted chestnuts were served until the countdown to the official lighting. Guests were then regaled with a lively and entertaining speech by Mr Italico Rota, General Manager of the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, who proceeded to officially open the festivities.
The lighting ceremony was followed by a delicious gala dinner held in the prestigious Villa Corinthia.
A Russian four-piece band called Carousel, accompanied by a talented soprano and a troupe of four Cossack dancers, provided the main entertainment spot for the evening. They gave a truly flamboyant performance, much to all the guests’ delight. This unusual show was followed by Maestro Dominic Galea and his band and the night came to a close with the guests dancing the night away to the popular band.
