Gilbert Busuttil, 26, of Sta Venera was today jailed for four years after he admitted to taking part in a string of hold-ups in 2009 on gaming outlets across Malta.

He admitted to his part in four armed robberies and one attempted hold-up and making off with €15,000 in April 2009.

The outlets were the gaming arcade Fairplay in San Ġwann, Fairplay in Birkirkara, Ambassador in Qawra and Playline in Marsa. The attempted hold-up happened at Fairplay in Paola.

The other men involved in the crimes, Bashir Abu Gasem Al Hariri, 37, and Martin Cassar, 32, both pleaded guilty at the time and were jailed for four years and six-and-a-half years respectively.
