The Duke of Gloucester is expected to visit Malta next year as most members of the Royal family visit Commonwealth countries to mark the Queen's diamond jubilee.
The Guardian reported today that the Queen, 86, will confine herself to a tour of the UK, while Charles, William, Harry and other royals are dispatched abroad.
Most parts of the Commonwealth will receive a royal visit. Prince Harry will visit Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are being sent to Malaysia, Singapore, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall will tour Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
The Duke of York goes to India and the Princess Royal goes to Mozambique and Zambia. Their brother the Earl of Wessex and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, get the rest of the West Indies and Gibraltar.
The Duke of Gloucester will go to the British Virgin Islands and Malta while the Duke of Kent will visit visit the Falkland Islands.
No dates for the tours have yet been announced.
