Popular band Airport Impressions last night carried off the new Raise the Roof Award handed out as part of the Bay Music Awards.

The award was given to the band which had the highest screaming level after its performance at the Bay Arena in Paceville.

Airport Impressions scored an impressive scream level of over 90 percent.

The success was a reward for the band's album 'Minutes of a Lifetime' launched last year. Airport Impressions went up on stage three times and amid the loud screams received the awards for Best Band, Presenters' Choice and the Raise the Roof award.

This was the eighth edition of the Bay Music Awards, with the theme this year being  'Are you ready to Scream?'

The Crowns won the title of Best Newcomers while the award for Best Dance Tune or Remix went out to JJoy with his tune 'King of the Night'.

The Best Solo Artist award was won by Christabelle and the Best Song award was presented to Andre' for the song 'Can't Be Friends'.
