A principal technical officer of the planning authority, who has been suspended on full salary since October 2003, has so far received a net pay €113,762.08 from the authority, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi told Parliament in reply to the third question on the case by Labour MP Carmelo Abela.

The unnamed employee was suspended after having been accused of committing criminal acts. His case is pending before the law courts.

The Prime Minister said MAlta Environment and Planning Authority was acting in terms of the collective agreement.
