Pupils at Chiswick House School recently participated in activities designed to teach them about diversity and inclusion.

Workshops were held in all Early Years and Junior School classrooms. These were run by the school’s Alternative Learning Programme, whose team of specialist teachers work with children with learning disabilities.

The title of this year’s event was ‘Inclusion: A Rainbow of Diversity’, reflecting the focus on helping pupils develop awareness and understanding the differences that exist within the community.

The week culminated in a celebration of diversity in the school theatre, which was attended by all pupils of Chiswick House School and led by Karl Wirth.

Staff and students at every level presented songs focused on diversity. Each child contributed to the completion of a rainbow by sticking a cut-out of their hand, with each colour representing a different level through to Junior 5.

The completed rainbow symbolised the idea that we all need each other to achieve wholeness.
