Live crib at Xagħra aims to spread Christmas message

Dec 24th to 30th, Mannar Street, Xagħra

The Guiding light group of Jesus of Nazareth church in Xagħra is presenting its annual live crib, with this year’s theme being “For we have seen his star in the East” (Mt 2,2).

The group, made up of young people seeking a spiritually guided life, intends its live crib as a message to Maltese and Gozitan families and all those who visit it, focusing on the meaning of Christ’s birth rather than telling the story.

This year visitors will be able to see innovative scenes depicting the main themes and traditions related to Christ’s time. The theme this year is related to the journey of the Three Kings.

The nativity scene is situated in Mannar Street next to the church of Jesus of Nazareth in Xagħra, on the left hand side. Entrance is free. The live crib will be open on Christmas Eve from 6.30 to 8 p.m., on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day from 3 to 9 p.m., and on December 26, 29 and 30 from 6 to 9 p.m.
