The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty on the silver screen

Two of the world’s most spectacular ballets will be screened exclusively at Eden Cinemas in the coming weeks.

Marius Petipa’s Sleeping Beauty will grace the big screen on Thursday directly from the Royal Opera House in London via satellite.

As a signature work of the Royal Ballet, Sleeping Beauty presents a glorious challenge to every dancer on stage. Performances to Tchaikovsky’s music generate a show which is difficult to match.

The second ballet is Tchaikovsky’s last ballet – The Nutcracker – another renowned classic and a traditional Christmas favourite.

Pre-recorded at The Bolshoi Theatre, this screening will showcase Yuri Grigorovich’s choreographed version of the spectacle, featuring an array of world class dancers including Artem Ovcharenko as the Nutcracker and Nina Kaptsova as Marie.

The delicate story of ideal love, filled with romanticism, will be showing at Eden Cinemas in St Julian’s on December 20.

Eden Cinemas is offering ballet lovers across Malta the opportunity to see both ballets for the reduced price of €35 (including parking), while single show tickets are available for €23 (including parking), and €10 for those under the age of 16.
