Standing ovations for Calleja at Nobel Prize concert
Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja received several standing ovations yesterday when he headlined the Nobel Prize Concert, which is held annually in Stockholm to honour the year’s Nobel Laureates.
He performed a selection of Italian and French opera arias with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic under Marcello Mottadelli.
Following the concert Calleja was introduced to the Queen of Sweden and other members of the Royal Family.
Calleja is due to return to Malta today.

We may be a small Island but it is unblievable what talent MALTA can produce. Thanks Joseph for making us proud to be Maltese. Your present performances are acknowledged world wide and I presume that your age will produce more high ranking performances that we still have to follow and rejoice.
Take care of your health and the rest will follow to the aclamation of the whole world.
Goood luck dear friend and may God be with you.

dear Mr. Galea i had never heard any operas before knowing you have exisisted. Now im proud enough to say that a maltese tenor is one of the best in the world. (if not the best) I can assure that with the comments written above we are making you more grateful to be maltese and to have maltese followers after you. I hope that maltese singers and bands do not stuck only here in malta because we have alot of good singers and musicians that can be compared with foreign ones (one can go in Marsa underground garages to listen to the musicians you never heard and be amazed). lets make our children live the dream and the chance to grow like other children in foreign countries does like italy for example or america. Even in football we have to be more motivated and give courage/ support...
