Two hurt as car ends up in the sea

Two women were injured and a man escaped unhurt when their car ended up in the sea last night.

The police said the incident happened at about 1 a.m. at Jews Sally Port, Marsamxett, Valletta.

The two women and the man were in an Opel Corsa which crashed into the sea. The three managed to get out and climbed onto the rocks by the time the police arrived.

All three were taken to hospital. The women, aged 59 and 40 from Gzira and Ta' Xbiex respectively, suffered some injuries and are receiving treatment. The man, born in the UK and resident in Floriana, was not hurt.
