Eurozone stagnant
Data issued in Brussels yesterday showed the eurozone’s economy was almost at a standstill during the third quarter of this year, fuelling fears of an impending recession.
The data, which does not include Malta, shows an average GDP growth of 0.2 per cent between July and September when compared to the previous quarter.
Malta’s GDP data for the third quarter is expected to be published on Friday. During the first two quarters, the island registered a GDP growth rate of 2.6 per cent of GDP.
