The Franciscan Friars together with the Sliema Philharmonic Society are presenting a vocal and musical concert at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Sacro Cuor) in Sliema tomorrow.

The concert coincides with the closing festivities for the 100 years since the first procession with the Statue of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to inaugurate the repositioning of the church pulpit in the main central area of the parish church.

The Sliema Youth Band, conducted by Lesley Tabone and the parish’s San Damian Choir, directed by James Perry and Therese Vella will be performing Christmas hymns Adeste Fidelis and Caro Gesù Bambino among other works.

The musical and vocal programme comes to an end with Innu Lis-Sultana Tagħna composed for the anniversary celebration by Victorio Gauci and arranged by Joe Brown and the popular hymn Viva Dejjem by Domenico Quercetti dedicated to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
