Setting goals

For Claudette Pace, resolutions are a reminder that we are all too human.

Claudette Pace, popular singer and television host, brightly admits that her resolution renews itself time and again – to lose weight, something which she describes as being somewhat of a struggle for her.

During 2011, Claudette was successful in sliding down several sizes, but aims to take advantage of the roll she is on and go on trying to lose some more weight.

“I think a resolution is a good excuse to remind us that we are all human and that we need to be honest with ourselves,” she says.

Claudette also recognises the importance of developing yourself beyond the physical aspects too. Her resolution for 2012 could be considered as an ongoing work in progress – to dedicate more quality time to her family, most of all to her daughter.

Is there any particular resolution which Claudette would never set herself, knowing in advance she would never be able to keep it?

Claudette answers the question wisely.

“I have never set myself impossible goals. However, I do believe that stating from beforehand that a resolution is achievable – or even worse, not achievable – defeats the purpose of setting goals. Life is a challenge, and what may seem easy and obvious for some may be next to impossible for others.”
