BOFFA. On December 4, at Karin Grech Hospital, Dr CHARLES, of Sta Luċija, aged 81, passed away peacefully after a long illness comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Milly, his children Christine, Dr Michael and his wife Veronique, Anne and her husband Tony, his beloved grand­children Stephanie, Maria, Michelle, Tanya, Alison, David and Stephen, his brother Dr George and his wife Laura in Australia, nephews and nieces, in-laws, other relatives and many friends. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Hospital today for Sta Luċija parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to doctors and staff at Karin Grech Hospital for their devoted care. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PACE. On December 1, at her residence, MARGARET, née Mifsud Montanaro, aged 82, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Joanne, Sandra, Michael, Victoria and her husband George Cremona and Jennifer and her husband Robert Camilleri, her brothers Mgr. Archim. George Mifsud Montanaro, Frank and his wife Ermina, and her sister Joyce Suokas and her daughter Gabrielle, her beloved grand­children Emma, Francesca, Maria and Andrea, her sister-in-law Laura Pace, other relatives and many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.15 p.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Joseph Home, Sta Venera, or Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PRIVITERA. On December 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEL, aged 76, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Frances, his son Tony and his wife Abigail, his daughter Judith, his grand­children, brothers and sister, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Mount Carmel parish church in Gżira, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. The family regrets it is unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Art preservation

Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar has invited conservators and restorers Joseph Schirò and David Bugeja to give presentations on modern conservation and restoration methods and to inform the public on how to care for works of art by following simple and effective guidelines. The talk will take place on Wednesday at the Italian Cultural Institute, in Valletta, at 6.30 p.m.

Restaurants survey winners

Timothy Bartolo won the first prize in The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants 2011 Survey competition. The second prize was won by Keith Cortis and the third by Ruth Aquilina. Prizes were also given to the next 10 best reviewers. They were: Chris Micallef, Marianne Grima, Shane Hunter, Trevor De Giorgio, Bryan Muscat, Christine Borg, Marthese Camilleri, Gabi Mizzi, Christie Grech and Michael King.

PS3 tournament
