Children gathered at the Dutch Ambassador’s residence in Ta’ Xbiex to celebrate Sinterklaas, yesterday. Sinterklaas is the feast of St Nicholas, celebrated in Holland on the eve of his birthday today. As the legend goes, Sinterklaas arrives in Holland by steamer from his home in Spain a couple of weeks before his birthday. In Malta, he arrived on a karozzin, drawn by a white horse and accompanied by his helpers to give every child a gift.
