The University’s Institute for Sustainable Energy is once again offering three different courses aimed at training solar installers, engineers and architects in solar heating and solar photovoltaic (PV) system installations (single- and three-phase systems).

This year, a change has been made to the minimum prerequisite qualification for participants in the single-phase PV systems course.

Prospective candidates who have a Level 4 MQF qualification in a relevant field of study and a minimum of two years experience in PV installations, can now apply for the single-phase PV course ISE2101, if they hold a valid Wireman’s Licence A (Authorisation A).

The courses have been tailor-made to provide the necessary information and training for installers to reach a high level of competence to install solar systems, and for designers and builders so that they can plan ahead to include solar systems in new and renovated buildings.

Application forms can be downloaded from the institute’s website www.um.edu.mt/ise, until December 16. The courses are scheduled to start in February. For further information,e-mail Charles Yousif on charles.yousif@um.edu.
