Tourism, hospitality staff obtain diploma in management

The first intake of 375 professionals working in managerial and supervisory positions in the local tourism and hospitality sector, recently graduated with an internationally recognised diploma in management en­dorsed by the Institute of Hospitality in the UK.

The diploma is recognised by the Malta Qualifications Council as equivalent to level 5 on the European Qualifications Framework.

The training programme, which was offered free to all participants, is estimated to cost over €12,000 per participant, and wasco-financed by the European Social Fund and the government.

The graduation ceremony was held at the Grand Ballroom, Radisson Resort and Spa, Għajn Tuffieħa.

Around 460 participants are currently enrolled in the second intake of the same programme.

Applications are currently being accepted for the third and final intake on the programme that will start in mid-February 2012.
