The Institute of Financial Services (Malta) has brought a new MBA qualification to the local market which allows candidates to obtain the dual award of a Master’s in Business Administration coupled with ‘Chartered Banker’ status.
Known as the Chartered Banker Master of Business Administration or CMBA, the qualification is awarded by the Bangor Business School University of the UK, in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland, the world’s oldest professional institute of bankers.
During a presentation to prospective students at St James Cavalier, Valletta, CMBA programme managing director Phil Ryan explained the qualification’s benefits.
It combines the high level skills and professional competencies that will be demanded of current and future leaders in the challenging post-crisis environment.
He outlined the course contents and the eligibility criteria of the different streams of the programme and the possibility of attaining exemptions in recognition of existing professional qualifications.
IFS Malta business development manager Robert Sultana gave a presentation on various government funding schemes and EU reimbursements and ways in which IFS Malta would assist potential candidates.
The first intake will take place in January and February. More information is available at www.ifsmalta.org or email info@ifsmalta.org. Alternatively call 2124 0335.
