A film festival of new Italian cinema is being held for the ninth consecutive year, as part of the international festival: So Close So Dar: South-eastern Sicily and Malta.

The festival will be held from Tuesday to Sunday and films will be screened at the Italian Cultural Institute, the University of Malta and St James Cavalier.

As in previous years, the public will have the opportunity to meet some of the directors and actors of the films being shown. This includes the renowned film critic and journalist Marco Spagnoli, well-established Italian television director Sergio Colabona and actor Ulderico Pesce, who is also director of the Centro Mediterraneo delle Arti.

Sicilian wine and sweets will be served after some films.
